Job description

NovaForge Industries is seeking a Industrial Production Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence across our high-volume assembly lines in Houston. You will partner with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and ensure reliable, scalable production. This role blends hands-on process improvement with systems thinking, leveraging lean methodologies and data analytics to deliver measurable results.

Responsibility

  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven improvements that raise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and line throughput.
  • Lead kaizen events and continuous improvement projects across multiple lines to reduce waste and variability.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to standardize work, SOPs, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Develop and implement standardized work, capacity planning, and line balancing to maximize throughput.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for quality and downtime issues, driving preventive actions and containment plans.
  • Support the deployment of lean tools (5S, SMED, kanban, value stream mapping) and monitor impact through KPIs.
  • Mentor shop-floor teams on problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision making.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing or production engineering experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools (Excel, Minitab, Tableau).
  • Proficiency with basic automation concepts, PLCs, and process control is a plus.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
