Job description
ApexForge Industries is seeking an Industrial Production Engineer to drive efficiency in our Houston based manufacturing facility. This role combines hands on shop floor leadership with data driven process optimization to deliver world class performance in safety, quality, and delivery.
In this role you will partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to implement smart changes across the production line, elevate problem solving, and mentor teams to sustain improvements. Responsibility
- Plan and optimize daily production schedules across multiple lines to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and variability.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as OEE, scrap rate, on time delivery and safety metrics.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to implement root cause analysis and countermeasures for equipment faults and process defects.
- Develop and manage standard work, line balancing, and capacity planning to ensure scalable production.
- Coach and mentor operators and technicians to strengthen cross functional teamwork and problem solving skills.
- Drive safety improvements and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and internal policies.
- Lead capital projects from concept through implementation including ROI analysis and project tracking.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; Master preferred.
- 5+ years of hands on manufacturing or industrial engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
- Experience with ERP and MES systems such as SAP or Oracle; data analytics skills (Excel, Minitab, etc.).
- Proficiency in data driven problem solving, root cause analysis, and statistical methods.
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and cross functional collaboration.
- Commitment to safety and quality with a track record of reducing waste and improving OEE.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, manage priorities, and adapt to changing production needs.
