Job description

PrimeLine Industrial Group is seeking a results-driven Industrial Production Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, drive efficiency, and ensure product quality across high‑volume production lines in Houston, TX. This role combines strong analytical skills with hands-on leadership to deliver measurable improvements in throughput, yield, and cost reduction.

As part of our Operations team, you will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Maintenance to design and implement standardized work, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will leverage data‑driven methodologies to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and sustain gains. This position offers a clear path to leadership and competitive compensation.

Responsibility

  • Lead cross-functional process improvement projects across assembly, fabrication, and packaging lines to optimize throughput and quality.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and lower cost per unit.
  • Analyze production data (OEE, yield, scrap) and implement data-driven countermeasures with measurable results.
  • Develop and standardize processes, work instructions, and control plans; support Gemba walks and shop floor audits.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to implement preventive maintenance schedules and reliability improvements; manage equipment changes and line migrations.
  • Drive daily production readiness, capacity planning, and staffing optimization to meet customer demand.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA with cross-functional teams.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering in high-volume environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, Tableau) and MES/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with quality systems, control charts, TPM, and SPC.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to lead projects.
  • Proven project management and change management capabilities; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
