Join NorthStar Manufacturing Corp, a leader in precision industrial production. We are seeking a results driven Industrial Production Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes across multiple lines in our Chicago facility. You will drive efficiency, quality, and safety by applying lean methods, data analysis, and collaborative problem solving.
In this role you will partner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and implement standardized work. The successful candidate will champion continuous improvement, monitor KPIs, and lead projects from concept to handoff.
Responsibility
- Lead production line optimization and staffing planning to meet daily throughput targets
- Apply lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and cycle times
- Analyze production data, create KPI dashboards, and drive data driven decision making
- Develop and implement standardized work, operator instructions, and training programs
- Collaborate with maintenance to implement total productive maintenance and improve line reliability
- Lead continuous improvement projects from ideation to implementation, including ROI analysis
- Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across operations
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in industrial production, manufacturing engineering, or operations in a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and problem solving
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, Tableau; familiarity with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle
- Familiarity with PLCs and automation is a plus
- Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects
