Job description
Paramount Industrial Group is seeking a results-driven Industrial Production Engineer to optimize operations across our Chicago manufacturing campus. You will lead process improvement initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement best-in-class manufacturing practices to increase throughput, reduce waste, and ensure quality.
In this role, you will analyze production data, develop standardized work, implement visual management, and support capital projects from concept through commissioning. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to drive sustainable improvements and safe, reliable production.
Responsibility
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma to optimize line efficiency, OEE, and throughput.
- Analyze production data and process maps to identify waste, bottlenecks, and variation; implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain standardized work, bottleneck analyses, and visual management to sustain gains.
- Coordinate capacity planning, line balancing, and setup/changeover reduction efforts.
- Manage small to mid-scale automation and equipment upgrades, collaborating with maintenance and IT teams.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality and reliability issues.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting for leadership and shop floor teams.
- Mentor operators and junior engineers, promoting a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (DMAIC), and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with MES/ERP systems, PLCs, and automation projects.
- Proficient data analysis skills (Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize safely.
