ForgeTech Industries is recruiting an Industrial Production Engineer to join our Detroit-area manufacturing facility. This role combines process optimization, equipment reliability, and cross-functional collaboration to drive best-in-class production performance.
As a pivotal member of our operations team, you will work with engineering, maintenance, and quality to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient production lines.

Responsibility
- Lead daily production planning, line scheduling, and capacity utilization to meet customer demand.
- Analyze process flow, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Own continuous improvement projects from scoping to sustained results, including cost reduction and yield improvement.
- Collaborate with maintenance and reliability teams to optimize machine uptime and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Develop standardized work procedures, operator training, and onboarding materials.
- Monitor quality metrics and drive root-cause analysis for deviations.
- Partner with Supply Chain to optimize material flow and reduce changeover times.
- Prepare reports for leadership and support data-driven decision-making.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial production environments, preferably automotive or discrete manufacturing.
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt a plus), and continuous improvement projects.
- Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and proficiency with MS Excel; familiarity with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Experience with production planning and scheduling, line balancing, and capacity planning.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Safety-conscious with knowledge of OSHA/ISO standards and quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
