Responsibility
- Lead and manage complex employee relations investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions in line with Malaysian Labour Law and company policies.
- Advise line managers and HR on IR matters, including conflict resolution, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor fair, consistent IR policies and procedures aligned with business goals and employee engagement.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Employment Act 1955 and relevant regulations; maintain up-to-date knowledge and deliver manager training.
- Manage union-related or employee relations matters in collaboration with Legal and HR stakeholders; mitigate risk through proactive policy communication.
- Track IR metrics, analyze trends, and prepare regular reports to senior management; identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Partner with Recruitment, Training, and People Operations to align workforce planning with policy communication and colleague experience.
- Support change management initiatives such as restructures or policy updates with transparent, timely communications.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related field; professional HRIR/SHRM/CIPD certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of industrial relations or HR experience in Malaysia or the APAC region; strong knowledge of the Employment Act 1955 and local IR frameworks.
- Proven investigative and case-management skills; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to IR metrics and reporting.
- Fluency in English; Malay language proficiency is a plus.
- Comfort with fast-paced, ambiguous environments and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
