Responsibility
- Provide strategic counsel to clients regarding patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters.
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent and trademark applications before the USPTO and international IP offices.
- Conduct trademark and patent clearance searches and advise on IP portfolio management.
- Support litigation teams in infringement and enforcement actions.
- Negotiate and draft IP licensing, assignment, and confidentiality agreements.
- Stay abreast of evolving IP laws and industry trends to ensure client compliance and protection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and direct client communications.
- Conduct due diligence in M&A and transactional contexts.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active membership in the NY State Bar.
- 2–5 years of substantive experience in intellectual property law, preferably in an AmLaw 100 firm.
- Strong knowledge of US and international IP law and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting patents and trademarks.
- Outstanding analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Superior attention to detail and client service skills.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in STEM a strong advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
