Join In-Tech as a dynamic Intern in Purchasing, Finances and Planning. This paid internship offers hands-on exposure to core business operations within a fast-growing manufacturing environment in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will work across purchasing, budgeting, forecasting and production planning, collaborating with colleagues from different functions to drive efficiency, cost control and alignment of financial targets with operational goals.
During the program, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to:
- Support procurement processes such as supplier onboarding, purchase orders, and vendor follow-ups to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
- Assist budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; participate in variance analysis and data validation to support decision making.
- Contribute to production planning and inventory management efforts, helping to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, dashboards, and reports using ERP and finance tools; ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
- Engage in cross-functional meetings to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities across manufacturing and logistics.
- Support month-end close activities and assist with financial reconciliation where appropriate for an intern role.
- Learn to translate business needs into actionable insights and present findings to the team.
What you will bring:
- Enrolled in a degree program in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Analytical mindset with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP or procurement systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; proactive, organized, and eager to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English; Malay language skills are a bonus.
- Willingness to relocate or commute to Bayan Lepas, Penang for the internship duration.
Responsibility
- Assist procurement activities including supplier onboarding, PO processing, and vendor follow-ups.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tasks; participate in variance analysis.
- Assist with production planning and inventory management to optimize stock levels.
- Prepare and maintain procurement and financial documentation, dashboards, and ERP-based reports.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support month-end close activities and basic financial reconciliations as appropriate for an intern.
- Translate business needs into actionable insights and present findings to the team.
Qualification
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with ERP or procurement systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; proactive and organized.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
