Responsibility
- Provide accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for events, meetings, trainings, and seminars, ensuring fidelity to tone and intent.
- Prepare terminology glossaries, subject-specific glossaries, and memory aids to support interpretation accuracy.
- Coordinate with event organizers, clients, or project managers to understand goals, audience, and technical terminology.
- Set up and operate interpreting equipment (conference booths, wireless headsets) and ensure optimal sound quality.
- Adhere to confidentiality, professional ethics, and data protection guidelines in all assignments.
- Deliver post-event debriefs or summaries as requested to support quality improvement.
- Provide remote interpretation services via video or phone platforms when required.
Qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years of interpretation experience across multiple settings (conference, medical, legal, corporate).
- Professional certification in interpretation is preferred (CI/CT, NIC, or equivalent).
- Native or near-native fluency in English with professional proficiency in at least one other language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, French).
- Strong note-taking, memory, and rapid processing skills; ability to maintain composure in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent listening, speaking, and public communication skills; cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with interpreting equipment and remote interpretation platforms; comfortable with technology and quick problem-solving.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team; strong time-management and client-service mindset.
- Willingness to travel for on-site assignments as needed or be available for remote shifts across time zones.
