GlobalLingo Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Translator to join our language services team. This full-time, hybrid role is based in New York City, with optional remote collaboration. You will lead English to Spanish translations for technical documentation, software localization, and marketing materials, ensuring precision, brand-consistent tone, and culturally relevant localization. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and localization teams to uphold quality standards and drive fast, accurate delivery using advanced translation technologies.

Responsibility
- Lead English to Spanish translations for technical documentation, software UI, and marketing collateral, ensuring accuracy, tone, and brand alignment.
- Manage translation memory and terminology databases to ensure consistency across projects.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and localization teams to define localization requirements and QA processes.
- Adhere to style guides, glossaries, and terminology standards; contribute to glossary development and maintenance.
- Perform quality assurance checks, proofreading, and editing; coordinate with native reviewers when needed.
- Meet project timelines, provide status updates, and proactively flag risks or blockers.
- Mentor junior translators, review translations, and share best practices to elevate team performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including AI-assisted translation workflows and process optimization.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional translation experience English to Spanish, preferably in tech or software localization.
- Native-level Spanish proficiency with excellent English reading and writing skills.
- Strong experience with CAT tools ( SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource ) and translation memories.
- Proven ability to manage terminology, create and maintain glossaries, and apply localization standards.
- Familiarity with software localization, UI/UX, and basic subtitling or multimedia localization is a plus.
- Excellent written communication, attention to detail, time management, and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
