Responsibility
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages with precision and artistry.
- Dial in grinders and espresso equipment to achieve optimal extraction daily.
- Lead and train junior baristas, ensuring consistent beverage quality and service standards.
- Manage flow during peak hours, maintaining speed and accuracy while delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and stock inventory.
- Engage with guests to understand preferences, upsell thoughtfully, and collect feedback.
- Operate the POS system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash with integrity.
- Collaborate with the café team to support events, seasonal promotions, and special menu items.
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years of barista experience in a fast-paced cafe or roastery setting.
- Proficiency with espresso machines (commercial grinders, espresso machines, scales) and milk texturing.
- Strong knowledge of coffee beans, roast profiles, and seasonal beverage development.
- Excellent communication and guest-service skills; ability to build rapport with diverse customers.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proven leadership or mentorship experience; capable of coaching junior staff.
- Willingness to perform fine-scale cleaning and maintenance tasks and follow safety protocols.
- Food Handler certificate or equivalent health and safety training is a plus.
