Beacon University invites applications for a full time Lecturer position in Data Science. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop engaging curricula, and contribute to the university's research and service missions.
We seek a dynamic educator who can translate complex concepts into accessible learning experiences, with a focus on practical data analysis, programming, and ethical data practice.
Responsibility
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars to undergraduate and graduate students in data science and related disciplines.
- Design, update, and assess syllabi, learning objectives, assignments, and evaluation rubrics.
- Incorporate active learning strategies and inclusive teaching practices to support diverse learners.
- Mentor students on research projects, capstones, and internships, fostering critical thinking and ethical data practice.
- Collaborate with faculty across departments to develop interdisciplinary modules and programs.
- Participate in program development, accreditation activities, and service duties within the department.
Qualification
- Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field; PhD is preferred.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the college or university level with a strong commitment to student success.
- Experience with data science tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, and visualization libraries.
- Ability to design and deliver high quality courses across data science topics and levels.
- Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills, with a collaborative attitude.
- Familiarity with online, hybrid, and in person teaching modalities; proficiency with learning management systems.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in curriculum and classroom.
