Atlantic Edge University invites applications for a dynamic Lecturer in Data Science. This full-time, on-campus position is based in Boston, MA.
We seek an engaging educator who can deliver high-quality instruction, develop innovative curricula, and mentor students in both foundational and advanced data science topics. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, contribute to scholarly activities, and participate in student advising and service activities.
Key responsibilities include teaching core data science courses, supervising capstone projects, and incorporating real-world datasets and ethical considerations into coursework. Responsibility
- Deliver engaging lectures and laboratory sessions for undergraduate and graduate Data Science courses.
- Design, update, and assess course materials, syllabi, and assessments to align with program outcomes.
- Supervise capstone projects, internships, and student research initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, program accreditation, and assessment processes.
- Mentor students, provide academic advising, and support career development.
- Lead workshops on data wrangling, visualization, ML workflows, and best practices in reproducible research.
- Engage in scholarship, publish findings, and participate in grant development as appropriate.
- Advocate for inclusive teaching, support diverse student populations, and contribute to a welcoming campus environment.
Qualification
- Masterβs or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- University-level teaching experience with a track record of student outcomes and engagement.
- Strong programming skills in Python; proficiency in SQL; experience with R is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and machine learning workflows.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

- Ability to supervise student research projects and assess learning outcomes effectively.
