Responsibility
- Deliver high-quality lectures and practical sessions for undergraduate and graduate Data Science courses, including core programming, statistics, and data analytics topics.
- Design and continuously update course curricula, assessments, and learning materials to align with program outcomes.
- Mentor and advise students; supervise capstone projects, theses, and research practica.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new courses, interdisciplinary programs, and co-curricular activities.
- Lead and contribute to online and hybrid course delivery, ensuring accessible and engaging learning experiences.
- Engage in program and department service, including committee work, accreditation readiness, and student support initiatives.
- Contribute to scholarship or professional practice; pursue grant opportunities and industry partnerships where appropriate.
Qualification
- PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field; or a Masterβs degree with significant relevant professional experience.
- Evidence of effective higher education teaching and commitment to inclusive pedagogy.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to engage diverse student populations.
- Experience designing data science curricula, assessments, and hands-on learning activities; familiarity with LMS (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
- Proficiency in programming and data tools (Python/R, SQL, data visualization, machine learning basics); ability to guide practical projects.
- Demonstrated scholarly activity or meaningful industry practice; willingness to supervise student research and pursue collaborations.
- Commitment to service and collegiality; ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams and adapt to evolving program needs.
