Responsibilities include delivering engaging lectures, designing and updating course materials, creating and grading assessments, advising students, supervising laboratory or studio sections where applicable, and participating in service activities such as committee work and accreditation preparation. The position emphasizes inclusive pedagogy, accessibility, and the use of innovative teaching technologies to support diverse learners.
Responsibility
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate active learning across assigned Liberal Arts and Sciences courses.
- Design, update, and align syllabi, learning objectives, and assessments with program outcomes.
- Develop inclusive teaching materials and implement accessible pedagogy for diverse learners.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback on exams, assignments, and projects; track student progress and outcomes.
- Advise students, supervise capstone projects or lab sections, and support academic advising initiatives.
- Collaborate with department colleagues on curriculum development, assessment plans, and program improvement.
- Participate in service activities including committee work, accreditation processes, and student support programs.
- Engage in professional development and stay current with disciplinary and pedagogical advances.
Qualification
- Terminal degree in a relevant field or an established record of scholarly or professional achievement in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience in higher education; strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to teach across multiple formats including in-person and hybrid/remote settings; experience with learning management systems.
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, accessibility, and student success.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills; ability to contribute to curriculum design and program assessment.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and a track record of service to the academic community.
