Responsibility
- Provide expert reference and research assistance to patrons in person, via chat, and by email.
- Develop and deliver information literacy instruction and research workshops for all ages.
- Curate and manage collections, including physical and digital resources, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
- Apply metadata standards (MARC, RDA) to optimize discovery and interoperability of library materials.
- Collaborate with staff on collection development, licensing, and digital repository initiatives.
- Support digital literacy programs, makerspaces, and community outreach.
- Assess user needs through surveys and analytics to continually improve services.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, copyright, and intellectual freedom policies.
Qualification
- Masterβs degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- 2+ years of professional librarian experience in public or academic library settings.
- Proficiency with library systems (Integrated Library Systems), cataloging workflows, and digital repositories.
- Strong research, analytical, and instructional skills with a proven commitment to inclusive service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Experience with metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core) and digital curation.
- Knowledge of copyright, privacy, and ethical standards in library services.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving library technologies and community needs.
