Responsibility
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons in person, by phone, and online.
- Develop, organize, and promote library collections with accurate metadata for discovery.
- Deliver information literacy instruction and research workshops for diverse audiences.
- Digitize, preserve, and provide access to local history and special collections.
- Coordinate interlibrary loan, cataloging workflows, and digital asset management.
- Collaborate with school, university, and community partners on programming and outreach.
- Analyze service usage data to improve collections, spaces, and user experience.
- Assist with developing policies and ensuring compliance with privacy and accessibility standards.
Qualification
- Master of Library Science MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging standards (MARC, RDA, Dublin Core) and discovery systems.
- Experience with integrated library systems and metadata management.
- Excellent research, instructional, and customer service skills.
- Ability to develop programs and instructional materials for diverse populations.
- Familiarity with digital preservation, digitization workflows, and open access resources.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management abilities; flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
