The Cedarview University Libraries seek a proactive Librarian with a passion for digital archives, metadata, and information management. This full-time role supports scholarly research, teaching, and community engagement by curating and enabling access to robust digital collections.
As a member of the Library Systems & Digital Initiatives team, you will shape metadata workflows, enhance discoverability, and collaborate with faculty to maximize the impact of library resources.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement digital repository strategies, metadata schemas, and access workflows.
- Lead cataloging, metadata enrichment, and digitization projects for archival collections.
- Provide expert reference services and information literacy instruction to students and faculty.
- Collaborate with departments to design digital exhibitions, outreach programs, and learning experiences.
- Ensure digital preservation practices and compliance with professional standards.
- Manage metadata quality control, audits, and documentation across collections.
- Participate in user-centered service improvements and cross-departmental initiatives.
Qualification
- Master of Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or equivalent professional experience in academic libraries.
- Experience with cataloging and metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core, METS/ALTO).
- Proficiency with library systems (Alma/Primo, WorldShare, or similar).
- Experience with digitization, digital archives, and preservation workflows.
- Strong reference, instruction, and information literacy skills.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management abilities.
