We are seeking a Librarian – Digital Services & Metadata to lead digital collection access, metadata creation, and research support. As part of the Digital Services team, you will curate digital collections, develop and maintain metadata using MARC, Dublin Core, and related schemas, and collaborate with developers, curators, and researchers to expand access across platforms.

Responsibility
- Develop and enhance metadata for digital collections using MARC, Dublin Core, MODS, and linked data principles.
- Catalog and classify library resources, ensuring accurate discovery in the catalog and discovery systems.
- Provide reference, research, and information literacy support at the reference desk and via virtual channels.
- Manage digitization projects, including quality control, provenance documentation, and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with IT, digital preservation, licensing, and vendor teams to steward digital assets and rights.
- Design and deliver information literacy instruction, library workshops, and outreach programs for diverse patrons.
- Analyze usage data and user feedback to inform collection development and access strategies.
- Contribute to policy development, metadata standards, and cross-department initiatives to improve access to knowledge.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLIS) or an equivalent ALA-accredited program.
- Minimum 3 years of professional librarianship experience, preferably in digital libraries, special collections, or academic settings.
- Strong knowledge of metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core, MODS) and cataloging practices.
- Experience with library discovery systems (e.g., Ex Libris Primo/Alma, Primo VE) and digital repositories.
- Proficiency in data management, digital preservation, and information retrieval.
- Excellent reference, research, and information literacy instruction skills; strong public service orientation.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and project management abilities; ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of copyright, licensing, and open access principles; awareness of accessibility standards.
