Responsibility
- Provide expert reference and research assistance to patrons across diverse disciplines.
- Catalog, classify, and manage library materials using current metadata standards (MARC, RDA).
- Oversee digital collections, institutional repositories, and metadata workflows.
- Plan and deliver information literacy instruction and research workshops for patrons and students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and curate collections that reflect community needs and equity goals.
- Maintain accurate holdings records and participate in collection development decisions.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs and partner organizations.
Qualification
- MLIS/MLS from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional library experience, preferably in public libraries.
- Proficiency with cataloging standards (MARC, RDA) and library systems (e.g., Alma, SirsiDynix, or similar).
- Strong reference and information literacy skills with experience teaching and facilitating.
- Knowledge of digital libraries, archives, metadata schemas (Dublin Core, METS, EAD).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and collaboration abilities; ability to work flexibly including evenings or weekends as needed.
