Responsibility

  • Provide responsive reference assistance in person, by phone, and online to patrons of all ages.
  • Develop and apply metadata, cataloging, and indexing guidelines for new acquisitions using standard practices (RDA, MARC 21).
  • Curate and expand digital collections, manage access permissions, and support digital preservation initiatives.
  • Plan and deliver information literacy instruction and research consultations for individuals and groups.
  • Collaborate with librarians and staff to design programming, outreach, and community partnerships.
  • Prepare data-driven reports on usage, circulation, and service metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Participate in collection development and deselection activities in line with budget and community needs.
  • Advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in all library services and programming.

Qualification

  • MLIS from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent professional credential.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of professional library experience, including reference and cataloging.
  • Strong knowledge of cataloging standards (RDA, MARC 21) and metadata practices.
  • Experience with library management systems (eg, Evergreen, Sierra, Alma) and discovery layers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to design and deliver information literacy instruction and research coaching.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in library services; experience serving diverse communities.
