Join the City of Seattle Public Library as a Librarian in our dynamic Information Services team. In this role you will help patrons find materials, answer reference questions, and support digital collections across multiple formats.

Responsibility
- Provide high quality reference and research assistance to patrons in person, by phone, and online.
- Plan and deliver information literacy and research skills instruction for diverse user groups.
- Catalog and classify materials using MARC21, RDA, and Dewey Decimal standards; ensure metadata quality.
- Assist with collection development, deselection, and budget planning to meet community needs.
- Curate and maintain digital collections, archives, and institutional repositories; manage access controls and rights.
- Collaborate with departments, schools, and community partners to promote library services and programs.
- Engage in data-driven assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement of services.
Qualification
- Master of Library Science MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional library experience; public or academic setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging and metadata standards including MARC, RDA, and Dewey Decimal.
- Experience with library management systems and digital repository tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse urban library environment.
