Join our innovative university library as a Library Specialist and support research, teaching, and community engagement. This role focuses on information organization, access, and instruction across the campus.
Responsibilities include cataloging and metadata workflow, user reference and research assistance, and collaboration with faculty on collection development and open access initiatives. You will contribute to digital repositories, interlibrary loan, and data informed decision making.
Responsibility
- Provide high quality reference and information literacy instruction to students and staff.
- Lead cataloging and metadata workflows to ensure accurate access to physical and digital resources.
- Manage digital repositories and support open access initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty on collection development and deselection activities.
- Coordinate interlibrary loan and resource sharing processes while ensuring timely delivery.
- Analyze usage data and prepare reports to inform collection and service enhancements.
- Design and deliver outreach programs and instructional workshops.
- Support accessibility and inclusive access to library resources for all users.
Qualification
- MLIS or equivalent master in library science from an ALA accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging standards such as RDA and MARC 21, subject headnotes, and classification schemes.
- Experience with library management systems and digital asset management tools.
- Excellent research, reference, and information literacy teaching skills.
- Familiarity with open access, digitization, and digital repositories.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and project management abilities.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services.
