Northbridge University Library invites applications for a dynamic Library Systems & Digital Services Librarian who will lead the library's discovery and digital collections initiatives. This is a high-impact role combining systems management, metadata, digitization workflows, and user-focused services to advance teaching, learning, and research.
We seek a collaborative, service-oriented librarian who can bridge traditional librarianship with modern information technology, ensuring accessible, compliant, and innovative library services for a diverse campus community.
Key responsibilities include partnering with library and campus stakeholders to design scalable solutions, advocate for equitable access, and support innovative research across disciplines.
Responsibility
- Lead the management and optimization of the library's Integrated Library System (ILS) and discovery layer to ensure fast, accurate access to resources.
- Oversee digital repositories and metadata workflows, applying MARC, Dublin Core, and MODS standards and performing authority control.
- Plan and execute digitization projects, digital preservation initiatives, OCR/text extraction, and rights management.
- Develop and deliver user-focused access services for digital collections, including instruction, reference, and research support.
- Collaborate with IT, campus units, and external vendors to implement new library technologies and services.
- Analyze usage data, prepare dashboards, and report on collection performance, user engagement, and service outcomes.
- Provide training and professional development for staff on systems, metadata standards, and digital humanities tools.
- Promote accessibility, inclusive design, and compliance with copyright and privacy policies.
Qualification
- MLIS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program.
- 3+ years of experience in library systems, digital repositories, or metadata creation.
- Strong knowledge of ILS platforms (eg Ex Libris Alma/Primo, WorldShare, or SirsiDynix) and discovery interfaces.
- Expertise in metadata standards (MARC, Dublin Core, MODS) and authority control; experience with linked data a plus.
- Experience with digitization workflows, digital preservation strategies, OCR/text recognition, and rights management.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; demonstrated ability to train and support staff and researchers.
