Hong Seng Assembly is actively seeking a dependable Lorry Driver to join our logistics team in Gopeng, Perak. This full-time role focuses on transporting diesel drums safely and efficiently within the Perak region to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will combine solid driving experience with a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and reliability. You’ll work closely with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries, maintain vehicle condition, and uphold strict loading and unloading procedures. Responsibility
- Safely operate and drive diesel drum-laden lorries to sites within Perak according to delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Secure, stability-test, and protect cargo to prevent spills, damage, or shifting during transit.
- Plan efficient routes, monitor delivery times, and communicate any delays or changes to dispatch.
- Accurately complete delivery documents, fuel logs, mileage records, and other required paperwork.
- Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies; maintain a safe driving record.
- Assist with loading and unloading as required and help maintain vehicle cleanliness and basic maintenance awareness.
- Build professional relationships with customers and site personnel to ensure smooth handoffs and repeat business.
Qualification
- Valid Malaysian heavy vehicle driving license (minimum level appropriate for the vehicle type) and clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a lorry/truck driver, preferably in manufacturing or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of diesel handling, safe cargo securing, spill prevention, and basic safety procedures.
- Strong knowledge of the Perak road network and ability to plan efficient routes.
- Good time management, reliability, and the ability to work early morning shifts when required.
- Basic literacy for paperwork (delivery notes, mileage logs) and clear communication skills.
- Physical fitness to assist with loading/unloading and to perform routine vehicle inspections.
- Team player with professional attitude and customer service mindset.
