Detroit Precision Components is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to optimize our production processes, improve quality, and drive cost reductions across the plant floor.
In this role you will partner with Operations, Quality, and New Product Introduction teams to deliver robust processes that scale with demand.

Responsibility
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across assembly, machining, and packaging lines to reduce cycle times and waste.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions using appropriate problem-solving methods.
- Design, document, and train standardized work instructions and operator SOPs to ensure consistent quality.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to support new product introductions and process transfers.
- Execute capability studies, PFMEA, control plans, and process validations to ensure robust processes.
- Lead 5S, safety, and housekeeping initiatives to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
- Apply lean tools such as value stream mapping, SMED, and Kanban to optimize material flow and reduce WIP.
- Monitor KPIs (OEE, yield, scrap) and provide actionable reports to leadership, driving measurable improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred) and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, Tableau).
- Proficiency with CAD tools and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; familiarity with automation a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment and willingness to work occasional off-shifts as needed.
- Proven track record of delivering process improvements with measurable impact.
