IronLine Manufacturing is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our fast-paced production facility in South Bend, Indiana. You will drive process improvements, optimize line layouts, and support new product launches. This role blends engineering rigor with hands-on shop-floor collaboration to deliver quality parts on time and within budget.
\nIn this role, you will partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to implement data-driven solutions that reduce waste, improve OEE, and ensure safe, compliant production processes. Responsibility
- Lead process improvements to reduce cycle times, waste, and variability across assigned production lines.
- Analyze manufacturing data (OEE, yield, scrap) and implement data-driven solutions.
- Design and optimize manufacturing layouts and workstations for efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to implement preventive maintenance and SPC controls.
- Lead New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure successful ramp-up and process validation.
- Develop standard work instructions, job aids, and operator training materials.
- Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of manufacturing or production engineering experience in a high-mix, low-to-mid-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and MES/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Data analysis skills using Excel, Minitab, or similar statistical tools; ability to read and interpret blueprints and process capability studies.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities with a bias toward action.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and process safety in a manufacturing setting.
