Eng IBS Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. invites motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Operations Intern in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This paid internship provides a hands on learning experience in a real production environment, with a clear path to growth and potential conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
During the program, you will work closely with production and engineering professionals to observe daily operations, understand process workflows, and contribute to improvements in quality, efficiency, and safety. This role is ideal for students pursuing engineering, manufacturing, or related disciplines who want to apply classroom knowledge to practical, on the floor operations.
As an intern, you will gain exposure to key areas such as line balancing, process monitoring, data collection, and basic equipment operation, while developing critical workplace skills in communication and teamwork. We encourage you to ask questions, take ownership of assigned tasks, and actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibility
- Assist production and operations teams on the shop floor to support daily manufacturing activities.
- Monitor production processes and collect data on output, efficiency, and quality; report findings to supervisors.
- Assist in setup, operation, and basic maintenance of manufacturing equipment under supervision.
- Support quality control activities including inspection, testing, and documentation of results.
- Participate in safety, 5S workplace organization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as engineering and supply chain to understand workflows and identify improvement opportunities.
- Document standard operating procedures and work instructions; maintain accurate records.
Qualification
- Enrollment in a Diploma or Bachelor degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field; or recent graduate seeking internship experience.
- Strong interest in manufacturing operations and industrial processes.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and safety protocols.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and data collection/analysis; comfortable learning basic software tools.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team; proactive and eager to learn.
- Willingness to work on site in Penang and commit to a part-time internship schedule.
