Responsibility
- Lead and conduct field research expeditions collecting and analyzing oceanographic data.
- Deploy, maintain, and calibrate advanced oceanographic instrumentation and remote sensing technologies.
- Develop, validate, and interpret numerical models of ocean circulation and biogeochemical cycles.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to publish peer-reviewed scientific papers and technical reports.
- Present research findings at international conferences and stakeholder meetings.
- Advise on climate and environmental policy based on marine ecosystem data.
- Supervise and mentor junior scientists, research assistants, and graduate students.
- Secure external funding through grant proposal development and industry partnerships.
Qualification
- PhD or Master’s degree in Oceanography, Marine Science, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in applied oceanographic research.
- Proficiency in data analysis using MATLAB, R, or Python.
- Demonstrated experience in ocean modeling and/or remote sensing techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific publication record.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings.
- Fieldwork experience and willingness to participate in extended marine expeditions.
- Grant writing and project management experience is a distinct advantage.
