We are seeking a skilled Maritime Navigation Engineer to lead navigation planning, watch support, and voyage execution in dynamic, safety-critical environments. This role offers exposure to ECDIS, ARPA, radar, GPS, and advanced voyage planning platforms, along with opportunities for professional growth and international exposure.
As a key member of our Navigation Team, you will collaborate with ship owners, port authorities, and operations centers to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient voyages from berth to destination.
Responsibility
- Plan and monitor safe vessel routes, ensuring compliance with COLREGs, SOLAS, and local regulations.
- Operate and validate ECDIS, ARPA, radar, and GPS data for real-time navigation decisions.
- Support bridge watches during port calls and offshore operations, providing navigational guidance and risk assessment.
- Maintain and update nautical publications, charts, and voyage plans in accordance with international standards.
- Coordinate with fleet operations centers to optimize voyage efficiency, safety, and fuel consumption.
- Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis related to navigational events (where applicable).
- Provide training and mentoring to junior navigators on navigation systems and safety procedures.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science, Marine Transportation, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Valid maritime licensing (e.g., STCW) and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on navigation experience on oceangoing vessels or in a NAV/bridge role.
- Proficiency in ECDIS (software), ARPA, radar, GPS, and voyage planning tools.
- Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, and bridge resource management principles.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills; ability to perform under pressure and during watches.
- Experience with safety management systems and incident reporting processes.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and travel as required.
