Global Meridian Maritime Solutions is seeking a Maritime Navigation Specialist to join our onshore team in Singapore. This role focuses on voyage planning, navigational risk assessment, and real-time vessel safety operations. You will work with a global fleet to optimize routes, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver data-driven navigation insights.

Responsibility

  • Lead voyage planning and route optimization using ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, and weather data to minimize fuel usage and navigational risk.
  • Monitor real-time navigational safety, traffic separation schemes, weather, and sea states; issue timely advisories to the fleet.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, COLREGs, ISM/ISPS codes and port state control requirements.
  • Collaborate with fleet operations, chartering, and safety teams to prepare voyage estimates, ballast and bunkering plans, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain navigational standard operating procedures; conduct reviews and incident reporting analyses.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior navigational staff and offshore teams.
  • Analyze navigation data to drive continuous improvement in routing, fuel efficiency, and safety metrics.
  • Prepare dashboards and reports for senior management on performance KPIs and risk indicators.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science, Marine Navigation, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) or equivalent national license.
  • Minimum 5 years of maritime navigation experience; onshore roles welcome for experienced candidates.
  • Proficiency with ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, radar, and related navigation software.
  • Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, and port state control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; calm under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI) and voyage performance reporting is preferred.
