We are seeking a Senior Maritime Navigation Specialist to join our Global Routing Desk in Singapore. Responsibility
- Lead voyage planning and routing optimization using ECDIS, AIS, ARPA radar, weather routing, and voyage planning tools.
- Monitor vessel positions and traffic patterns to select optimal routes while minimizing risk and fuel burn.
- Coordinate with Fleet Operations, Weather Desk, and Chartering to translate client goals into actionable navigation plans.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for navigation planning, routing, and post-voyage review.
- Conduct risk assessments for port approaches, restricted waters, and adverse weather conditions; implement contingency plans.
- Analyze performance metrics; produce clear, data-driven reports for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (SOLAS, COLREGs, STCW, MARPOL) and maintain precise navigation logs and documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science, Maritime Navigation, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in voyage planning, vessel routing, or onboard navigation roles.
- Expertise with ECDIS, AIS, ARPA, radar, and modern voyage planning software.
- Strong knowledge of SOLAS, COLREGs, STCW, MARPOL, and international maritime regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under time pressure.
- Effective communication and leadership; able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
