Join our premier maritime team as a Maritime Navigation Specialist based in Singapore. You will leverage ECDIS, ARPA, and advanced route planning to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations in busy international waters.
This role combines skilled navigation with data-driven decision making, tight regulatory compliance, and collaborative stakeholder engagement across ship crews, port authorities, and onshore operations.
Responsibility
- Monitor and optimize vessel routes using ECDIS and ARPA to enhance safety, fuel efficiency, and schedule adherence.
- Plan and execute real-time navigation under varying weather and traffic conditions, ensuring collision avoidance and compliance with COLREGs.
- Maintain accurate navigational records, charts, publications, and safety procedures; oversee GMDSS readiness.
- Coordinate with bridge teams, vessel masters, and port authorities to ensure smooth arrivals, departures, and contingency planning.
- Analyze navigational performance metrics and prepare reports for management and clients.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior navigational personnel and conduct routine drills.
- Oversee adherence to SOLAS, ISM, and safety management systems in navigation operations.
- Support incident investigations and near-miss reporting with root-cause analysis.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation, Nautical Science, or related field.
- Valid STCW certificate of competency as Navigational Officer or Master.
- Extensive hands-on experience with ECDIS (type-specific familiarity), ARPA, GMDSS, and GNSS.
- Strong knowledge of COLREGs, SOLAS, and maritime safety regulations.
- Proven ability to interpret nautical charts, perform route planning, and maintain watchkeeping standards.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus; willingness to work in a 24/7 operations environment.
