You will design, implement, and support navigation systems used by commercial vessels, port authorities, and offshore platforms. This role blends marine science, software engineering, and real-world voyage operations to improve safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
In this role you will collaborate with shipowners, integrators, and naval architects to deliver turnkey navigation solutions that integrate ECDIS, ARPA radar, AIS, GNSS, and weather routing. You will drive system integration, validation, and maritime data analytics in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a competitive salary, relocation support (if needed), ongoing professional development, and access to the latest maritime data feeds and simulators.
Responsibility

- Develop and maintain voyage planning workflows, weather routing, and safety margins using industry best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors and software teams to customize navigation software, sensors, and data interfaces.
- Perform system validation, sea trials, and incident analysis to ensure compliance with SOLAS and local regulations.
- Create technical documentation, user guides, and training materials for crews and operators.
- Analyze operational data to identify optimization opportunities and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for navigation systems, troubleshooting issues and coordinating with vendors.
- Participate in maritime cybersecurity and data governance initiatives to safeguard critical navigation data.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Engineering, Navigation, Oceanography, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ECDIS, ARPA radar, AIS, GNSS, and voyage planning in a shipping or maritime operations environment.
- Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB; experience with data processing and maritime data standards (S-57/S-100, NMEA) is a plus.
- Proficiency with marine simulation tools, simulators, and virtual sea-trials; ability to design test plans and perform root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of SOLAS, maritime regulations, and safety management systems; familiarity with cyber security in navigation systems is desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as RINA, DNV GL, or SAMS credentials are a bonus.
- Willingness to relocate to Singapore or work on a hybrid schedule as required.
