At Popular Holdings, we are seeking a proactive Merchandising Executive for the Stationery category to drive compelling product assortments and deliver strong store and online performance across the North-East Region. You will own the end-to-end merchandising process, from sourcing and selecting products to negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers.
Your responsibilities include assessing supplier capabilities, evaluating market trends, and building a differentiated stationery assortment that meets customer needs while optimizing margin. You will manage order processing, coordinate overseas shipments, monitor stock levels, and analyze stock performance to maximize sales and minimize markdowns. Regularly review performance analytics to identify growth opportunities and present data-driven recommendations to cross-functional teams.
Ideal candidates are results-driven, with strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and project coordination skills. Proficiency in data analysis and merchandising software, along with a keen eye for detail, will help you forecast demand, optimize SKU rationalization, and support a seamless supply chain. As part of the procurement and merchandising team, you will collaborate with marketing, store operations, and logistics to ensure timely product launches, accurate promotions, and effective inventory deployment across channels. You will stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory considerations affecting international sourcing.
Responsibility
- Source and select stationery products aligned with category strategy and seasonal themes.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier contracts to achieve targets.
- Manage end-to-end order processing, purchase orders, lead times, and quality control.
- Coordinate overseas shipments, logistics, and customs compliance.
- Monitor stock performance, lead indicators, and turn rates; optimize assortment and inventory levels.
- Analyze sales and merchandising data; develop data-driven recommendations; support promotions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (purchasing, marketing, store operations) to execute assortment plans and launches.
- Maintain supplier relationships, perform quarterly business reviews, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualification
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 2-5 years merchandising or procurement experience, preferably in stationery or FMCG.
- Strong negotiation, contracting, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and merchandising systems (ERP/SAP or equivalent).
- Experience with international sourcing and import/export processes; knowledge of logistics and customs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills; detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Skilled in inventory management, demand forecasting, and SKU optimization.
