Fortress Defense Group is seeking a resilient and mission-focused Military Operations Specialist to support secure, high-stakes operations at the Quantico, VA area. You will collaborate with military personnel and defense partners to plan, coordinate, and execute mission-support activities that safeguard personnel, information, and infrastructure.
As a cornerstone of our defense operations team, you will apply strategic thinking, risk assessment, and leadership to ensure operational readiness and compliance with DoD policies. This role requires the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans, exceptional communication skills, and the dedication to uphold the highest standards of integrity.

Responsibility
- Plan, coordinate, and execute mission-support operations that align with defense objectives and timelines.
- Monitor and secure critical information and infrastructure in accordance with DoD security policies.
- Conduct threat assessments, risk analyses, and incident response planning for assigned programs.
- Coordinate with military units, contractors, and government partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Lead training sessions and drills to elevate readiness and defense posture across teams.
- Prepare detailed after-action reports, briefings, and requirements documentation for leadership.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to safety standards.
Qualification
- Active or eligible DoD security clearance (Secret or higher) or ability to obtain; minimum 2+ years in defense operations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Security Studies, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of DoD policies, risk management, and incident response methodologies.
- Proven leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel or deploy up to 10-20% as required; physical fitness standards as needed.
- Proficiency with security information systems, C2/ISR concepts, and basic data analysis is a plus.
