Responsibility
- Assist the engineering team in maintaining and repairing all shipboard machinery and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and daily maintenance of engine room systems, including pumps, generators, and auxiliary machinery.
- Monitor engine performance and promptly report any malfunctions or abnormalities to the Chief Engineer.
- Follow safety protocols during all engineering and maintenance operations.
- Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the engine room and machinery spaces.
- Participate in scheduled safety drills and emergency procedures.
- Support bunkering and fuel transfer operations as required.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of daily operations and maintenance activities.
Qualification
- Valid STCW Motorman certificate and relevant maritime documents.
- Minimum 1-2 years of sea service experience as a Motorman or similar role on general cargo, bulk, or cement vessels.
- Sound understanding of marine engineering systems, machinery maintenance, and repair.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively within a multicultural crew.
- Strong safety awareness and discipline.
- Good physical and mental condition, and ability to work in rotating shifts.
- Willingness to participate in maritime training and professional development courses as required.
