We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Museum Manager to lead operations, programs, and visitor experience at Heritage & Science Museum in Boston. This hands-on leadership role oversees collections care, exhibitions, education programs, and staff performance.
As Museum Manager, you will partner with curators, conservators, educators, and development teams to create meaningful experiences for diverse audiences while ensuring compliance with professional standards and museum best practices.

Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations including admissions, security, facilities, and visitor services.
- Lead exhibition planning and project management from concept to installation, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Manage collections care and preservation in coordination with curators and conservators.
- Develop and implement engaging education and public programs to grow diverse audiences and community partnerships.
- Lead fundraising and donor relations in partnership with the development team; assist with grant reporting and sponsorship opportunities.
- Supervise and develop staff, volunteers, and interns; foster an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, safety regulations, and risk management for all museum operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, History, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of museum or cultural institution management experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience with exhibitions planning, collections management, and conservation workflows.
- Budgeting, fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations experience.
- Excellent communication and public-speaking skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of accessibility, inclusivity, and DEI best practices; proficiency with collection management systems (e.g., TMS, PastPerfect).
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed and travel for partnerships or site visits.
