Join Cultural Heritage Collective, a respected nonprofit dedicated to preserving and presenting world class collections. We are seeking a proactive Museum Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, programs, and visitor experiences in our flagship London museum.
You will collaborate with curators, conservators, educators, and external partners to ensure safe, accessible, and engaging experiences for diverse audiences.
This leadership role blends operational excellence with audience-focused programming, ensuring our institution remains a dynamic hub for learning and culture.
Responsibility
- Oversee all museum operations including facilities, security, visitor services, and vendor management.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of staff and contractors to deliver high quality exhibitions and programs.
- Plan and manage annual operating budget, procurement, and cost control.
- Coordinate exhibition schedules, loans, and conservation workflows with curators and registrars.
- Develop strategies to improve accessibility, inclusivity, and audience development across all programs.
- Engage with donors, sponsors, and grant programs; prepare reports for funders.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and professional standards.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in museum studies, arts administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in museum operations, exhibitions, or cultural venue management.
- Strong budgeting, procurement, and contract management skills.
- Proven leadership with ability to motivate diverse teams and manage cross-functional projects.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and written reporting skills.
- Familiarity with collections management systems and registrarial processes.
- Commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and audience civility; knowledge of safeguarding and H&S standards.
