Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations, facilities, safety, and visitor services to ensure a safe, welcoming experience for all guests.
- Lead project management for exhibitions and programs, coordinating curators, educators, vendors, and contractors to deliver compelling experiences on schedule and budget.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation.
- Drive collections care and access, collaborating with curators and conservators on accessioning, cataloging, and conservation planning.
- Steward fundraising and external relations, including grant writing, sponsorships, membership growth, and donor stewardship.
- Manage and mentor staff and volunteers, championing inclusive leadership and professional development across departments.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, safety regulations, and ethical guidelines while advancing community engagement and accessibility.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, History, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in museum operations or a related field, with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proven budget management, financial forecasting, and fundraising experience (grant writing a plus).
- Knowledge of collections care, cataloging, and conservation standards; familiarity with museum metadata systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
- Experience developing educational programs and audience engagement strategies for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with museum management software, CRM systems, and data-driven decision making; strong MS Office skills.
