Join the Heritage Bay Museum & Cultural Center as the Museum Operations Manager, overseeing daily operations, guest services, collections collaboration, and program execution to advance our mission.
We seek a strategic, hands-on leader who can optimize visitor experiences, steward our collections, and partner with curators, educators, volunteers, and vendors to deliver exceptional cultural programs.
As the Museum Operations Manager, you will drive operational excellence, cultivate inclusive programming, and ensure alignment with our institutional goals while delivering memorable experiences for diverse audiences.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations, guest services, security, facilities, and vendor relationships to ensure a seamless visitor experience.
- Lead collections coordination in collaboration with curators, conservators, and registrars, ensuring proper handling, storage, and display.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resources for programs and exhibitions.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate exhibitions, public programs, education initiatives, and outreach events.
- Lead a diverse team of staff, interns, and volunteers; recruit, train, and provide ongoing professional development.
- Ensure safety, accessibility, and compliance with museum standards and local regulations.
- Foster community partnerships, donor relations, sponsorships, and grant opportunities to secure funding and awareness.
- Utilize data and visitor feedback to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact to stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, History, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive museum operations or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of collections management, exhibitions planning, and conservation basics.
- Proven budget management, fundraising, and grant-writing or sponsorship experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and audience development.
- Experience with donor management systems, CRM, and museum management software.
