We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Museum Operations Manager to lead daily operations, ensure exceptional visitor experiences, and drive long-term sustainability.
With a focus on operations, facilities, collections care, and team leadership, you will partner with curators, educators, and development teams to deliver world-class programming.

Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations including facilities, safety, security, and visitor services to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Lead long-range facilities planning, preventive maintenance, and capital projects in collaboration with the executive director and board.
- Coordinate collections logistics, exhibit rotations, packing, courier services, and installation timelines with curatorial staff.
- Develop and manage budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency and cost control.
- Supervise and mentor the operations team; recruit, train, and evaluate staff and volunteers; foster a culture of service and accountability.
- Collaborate with development and marketing teams to plan special events, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach programs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, safety regulations, conservation best practices, and data security for digital assets.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive museum operations, facilities management, or similar experience in a museum or cultural institution.
- Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal communication skills; experience supervising diverse teams.
- Proven track record in budgeting, vendor management, and strategic planning with data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge of collections care, installation workflows, and exhibition logistics; familiarity with conservation and health & safety standards.
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to engage diverse audiences, with strong donor and community relationship skills.
- Proficiency with museum management systems, MS Office, and digital communication tools; optional familiarity with CAD or space planning software.
