Responsibility
- Perform notarial acts including acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, affirmations, and proof of signers in accordance with California law.
- Verify identity of signers using valid government-issued ID and maintain compliance with privacy requirements.
- Maintain accurate notary journal entries and secure record-keeping per state guidelines.
- Manage mobile and in-office appointments, travel within the service area, and document handling with discretion.
- Collaborate with clients, lenders, attorneys, and title companies to facilitate closings and document execution.
- Ensure readiness for notarial acts by preparing certificates and ensuring documents are complete and compliant.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explain notarial processes, and address client questions professionally.
- Adhere to all safety, privacy, and security standards, and maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualification
- Current California Notary Public commission in good standing.
- Active Notary Journal and Errors & Omissions insurance where required.
- Minimum 3 years of notarization experience preferred; strong organizational skills also considered.
- Deep knowledge of California notary laws, rules, and best practices, including ethical standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in document handling, and data entry.
- Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the LA area as needed.
- Proficiency with digital notary platforms, e-signature tools, and document management software.
