Responsibility
- Perform notarial acts in accordance with California law, including acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, and affirmations, with proper identification and record-keeping.
- Prepare and complete notarial certificates and other required documents with meticulous accuracy.
- Coordinate on-site signings at clients' homes, offices, or institutions, ensuring efficiency and privacy.
- Verify signer identity, monitor for conflicts of interest, and maintain signatory confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate journal entries and secure storage of documents and equipment used during notarial acts.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining notary procedures and responding to client questions in a clear, professional manner.
- Collaborate with title companies, lenders, and escrow officers to facilitate smooth closings and timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all state regulations, record-keeping policies, and professional ethics.
Qualification
- Active California Notary Public with commission in good standing and Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance, or willingness to obtain.
- Minimum 2+ years of notary experience; experience with loan signings and real estate closings preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in document verification and record-keeping.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with professional appearance and communication.
- Ability to work independently, manage scheduling, and travel to client locations within the service area.
- Proficiency with basic computer software, digital signatures, and notary management platforms.
- Must pass a background check and comply with privacy and security requirements.
