As a Tour Guide, you will lead small to mid-sized walking tours across the Old Town, Royal Mile, and surrounding neighborhoods. You’ll craft compelling narratives, ensure guest safety, and provide exceptional customer service. We provide comprehensive training, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibility
- Lead engaging walking tours of Edinburgh's Old Town, Royal Mile, and surrounding neighborhoods for diverse groups.
- Deliver accurate historical information, captivating stories, and contextual commentary.
- Ensure guest safety, manage group logistics, and handle on-tour inquiries with professionalism.
- Adapt content for varied audiences, including families, students, and international guests.
- Collaborate with operations to manage schedules, bookings, and route planning.
- Collect guest feedback and contribute to continuous improvement of tour experiences.
- Represent the brand with a polished appearance and upbeat, guest-focused attitude.
Qualification
- Proven experience as a tour guide or in hospitality/customer service preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Edinburgh history, landmarks, and local culture.
- Excellent public speaking, storytelling, and interpersonal skills.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus (English required; additional languages welcome).
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and seasonal shifts.
- Valid work authorization for the United Kingdom; ability to obtain necessary permits for tours.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to think on your feet.
- First aid certification or emergency response training is a plus.
