This role offers a collaborative, state-of-the-art environment with access to advanced instrumentation and a strong publication track record.

We are seeking a highly motivated physicist who can lead experimental projects, analyze complex data, and communicate results clearly across interdisciplinary teams.

As part of our team, you will work with leading researchers and engineers to push the boundaries of measurement, control, and theory. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and values scientific integrity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Based in Cambridge, MA, the institute focuses on advancing fundamental physics and practical applications in quantum technologies. You will work with a diverse group of researchers and engineers to push the boundaries of measurement, control, and theory.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits
  • Collaborative, inclusive research culture
  • Access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and facilities
  • Opportunities for rapid publication and professional growth

Responsibility

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of physics experiments in quantum materials and quantum information science.
  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain laboratory measurement systems and experimental apparatus.
  • Collect, process, and analyze experimental data using Python, MATLAB, Julia, and established analysis pipelines.
  • Collaborate with theorists and engineers to interpret results and refine experimental concepts.
  • Document protocols, maintain rigorous data management practices, and ensure reproducibility of analyses.
  • Present findings in internal reviews, conferences, and contribute to manuscript preparation.
  • Contribute to grant writing, progress reports, and compliance documentation; mentor students and interns as needed.

Qualification

  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field; or equivalent postdoctoral/industrial research experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in experimental physics or computational modeling related to quantum systems.
  • Strong programming skills (Python required; MATLAB or Julia preferred).
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation (lasers, cryogenics, cryostats, low-temperature measurements, interferometry, or related systems).
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, develop models, and communicate results clearly in written and oral form.
  • Strong publication record and track record of presenting at conferences.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams; willingness to travel occasionally.
