Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats and respond to calls to deter crime and ensure public safety.
- Conduct preliminary investigations, collect and preserve evidence, and document findings accurately.
- Enforce laws and issue citations as appropriate, including traffic safety enforcement.
- Engage with community members to build trust, deliver resources, and address concerns.
- Prepare clear incident reports, testify in court, and maintain precise records.
- Collaborate with other agencies and participate in joint operations and special details.
- Respond to emergencies, manage crowd control, and coordinate with dispatch during incidents.
Qualification
- Minimum age 21; U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license.
- Completion of a recognized police academy or POST certification.
- Strong communication, decision making, and de-escalation skills.
- Proven physical fitness; pass medical and fitness evaluations.
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph; clean legal record.
- Knowledge of local laws, traffic regulations, and constitutional rights.
- Proficiency in report writing, interviewing techniques, and making sound decisions under pressure.
