As a Police Officer, you will engage in proactive patrols, respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, prepare accurate reports, and collaborate with other agencies to ensure public safety.
Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats to deter crime and maintain public order.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency.
- Conduct initial investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and document findings.
- Prepare clear, concise, and timely police reports and case documentation.
- Engage with community members to build trust and facilitate problem-solving through outreach and education.
- Collaborate with detectives, supervisors, and other agencies on proactive enforcement strategies.
- Uphold constitutional rights and ensure fair treatment while enforcing laws.
- Maintain physical fitness, participate in ongoing training, and stay current with policing best practices.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Current law enforcement officer certification or eligibility for certification in Illinois.
- Successful completion of physical fitness standards and medical clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations.
- Commitment to community policing, ethics, and service to the public.
- Background check and drug screening required; ability to obtain security clearance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
