Responsibility
- Provide visible presence and patrol assigned neighborhoods to deter crime and respond to incidents
- Respond quickly to emergencies, assess situations, and take appropriate protective actions
- Investigate, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and document findings accurately
- Enforce laws, issue citations, and make arrests when necessary
- Prepare clear reports and testify in court as required
- Collaborate with detectives, supervisors, and community partners to solve problems
- Engage in community policing initiatives, crime prevention programs, and youth outreach
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain proficiency and adapt to changing conditions
Qualification
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized police academy preferred
- Be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to pass a fitness assessment
- Successful completion of background investigation and polygraph; not convicted of disqualifying offenses
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision making under pressure
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bilingual abilities or experience serving diverse communities are a plus
